About

This magnificent mountain walk begins at the mighty Pico Areeiro and heads off into the interior through jagged pinnacles and enormous towers of volcanic rock embellished with lava veins. Our exhilarating journey takes us to the highest point on the island, the soaring Pico Ruivo before we descend to Achada do Teixeira.

Trail: Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo Location: Centre Length: 11km Grade: Very Challenging. For safety reasons, due to the condition of this route, Nature Meetings only recommends this walk for experienced walkers.
