Your California Privacy Rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of their personal information.

What does "sale" mean? Under California law, "sale" means sharing personal information with third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. This may include sharing data with advertising partners.

What does "sharing" mean? "Sharing" refers to disclosing personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted advertising based on your activity across different websites).

How We Use Your Information

The Adventure Collective may share your personal information with third parties in the following ways:

  • Advertising partners: We work with Google Ads, Facebook/Meta, and other advertising platforms that may use cookies and tracking technologies to deliver personalized advertisements
  • Analytics providers: We share data with Google Analytics and similar services to understand how users interact with our platform
  • Affiliate partners: When you book through affiliate links, we may share information necessary to complete your booking and earn affiliate commissions
  • Social media platforms: If you interact with social sharing features, information may be shared with social media platforms

Effect of Opting Out

If you opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information:

  • We will stop sharing your information with third-party advertisers for targeted advertising purposes
  • You may still see advertisements, but they will be less personalized to your interests
  • We will continue to share information necessary for core business operations (processing bookings, customer support, fraud prevention)
  • Your opt-out preference will be respected for at least 12 months before we ask you to authorize sales or sharing again

Verification Process

To protect your privacy, we must verify your identity before processing your opt-out request. We will:

  • Send a verification email to the address you provided
  • Request that you confirm the request by clicking a verification link
  • May request additional information if we cannot reasonably verify your identity

Once verified, we will process your request within 45 days and send confirmation.

Non-Discrimination

The Adventure Collective will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights. You have the right to opt-out without:

  • Being denied goods or services
  • Being charged different prices or rates
  • Receiving a different level or quality of service

However, we may offer financial incentives or different prices/services if directly related to the value of your data and offered with your consent.
