Join us for a unique Yoga and Surf Day Retreat at a charming 200-year-old Victorian Stables. Begin with a rejuvenating two-hour yoga session led by Sally Jean Rankin, followed by a delicious lunch. Then, hit the waves at Belhaven Bay, where expert instructors will guide you through surfing, ensuring a memorable adventure!
Welcome to your Yoga and Surf Day Retreat.
Spend the morning at our wonderful rural HQ, a 200-year-old Victorian Stables building, in the heart of the John Muir Country Park.
The mornings Yoga session will be run by Sally Jean Rankin founder of Kinship.Studio. Sally will take you through a two hour journey of Yin and Vinyasa Flow Yoga finishing with a Yoga Nidra meditation during relaxation at the end of the practice.
The session is designed to prepare your mind and body for your surf session and is open to all levels however some experience would be beneficial.Following the yoga session, you will enjoy a lunch of warm soup and freshly made sandwiches together in front of the wood burning stove and have time to relax before the afternoon’s activities.
After lunch it will be time to jump into Ocean Verticals thick 5mm wetsuits (wetsuit gloves, boots and hoods are available too!) and head down to Belhaven Bay (2-minute drive) with your surf instructor.
The afternoons surf session will be designed for beginner and intermediate surfers, so if you have never surfed before, your instructor will coach you through the basics of catching your first waves and looking at standing up on the board. If you are more of an intermediate surfer, our instructors will help you to progress your surfing to the next level.

With big smiles and a huge sense of achievement you will head back to OV HQ for a warm shower followed by hot tea and cake by the fire.

Plan to arrive at the Victorian Stables early to settle in and prepare for the full two-hour yoga session led by Sally Jean Rankin.
Choose yoga-friendly attire that can also get sandy or wet during surf lessons to stay comfortable throughout the day.
Though Belhaven Bay offers beginner-friendly waves, always verify daily surf reports to dress and prepare accordingly.
