Florida Railroad Museum preserves and operates historic railroad equipment and offers public train excursions from its Parrish, Florida station. Known as “The Museum Where You Ride the Exhibits!”, the museum runs seasonal and regular trips that let visitors board restored coaches, open-air cars, and vintage cabooses. Highlights include the Willow Express, a scenic 13-mile round trip from Parrish to Willow with options for open-air seating or air-conditioned coaches, and locomotive cab rides that provide a 1.5-hour, behind-the-scenes view from the engineer’s cab along a 6.5-mile segment of the railroad.
Special events blend history and family fun: the Pumpkin Patch Express is a 2.5-hour seasonal outing with pumpkin picking, hay rides, and games; the North Pole Express and European Holiday Market run during winter; Von Kessinger’s Express stages an immersive World War II reenactment set in June 1944; and the Train Robbery features a dramatic live-action sequence protected by the United States Marshal Service. Private experiences include party caboose rentals for up to 16 guests and a Hobo Campfire Cookout with onboard seating and campfire refreshments.
