With our excursion to Gouda and the mills of Kinderdijk we will discover the landscapes of South Holland, knowing the drying works of the Dutch, and techniques to gain ground to the sea. In this area were numerous commercial ports during the golden century, where they obtained, manufactured and distributed a multitude of products.
First we will visit Kinderdijk, an area of windmills World Heritage elevated on the polder landscape. To understand how these giants affected the economy of the country our local guides will explain us about the great industrial revolution that took place here and we will be able to see inside the mills.
We will continue our journey towards Gouda, a city full of merchants in the 17th century attracted by cheese. We walk along its streets admiring buildings as important as the Church of San Juan, the town hall or the public scales. And of course, we will enjoy a tasting of the delicious local product; after a visit to the cheese market we will be able to taste different types and even take some back home.
