Spend your morning at Pearl Harbor and experience all the WWII history that you can fit into one day. This semi-private tour begins with a Minivan pick-up at your hotel in Waikiki (or a hotel close by) and includes the following fascinating glimpses into history:
USS Arizona The Arizona was sunk as part of the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Imperial Japanese Navy on December 7th, 1941. This tour includes tickets for the National Park Service movie and boat ride out to the Memorial, a graceful structure that spans the sunken battleship. You will also have time to visit the two National Park Service exhibit galleries, “Road to War” and “Attack”.
USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park The USS Bowfin Submarine is moored proudly near the Arizona Memorial, ready to welcome visitors to the fabled era of WW II submarines and their crews. This is a place filled with tales of men who served under extreme conditions with strength, bravery and honor. Whether inspired by the sheer adventure of the journey or the amazing heroism of the crew, visitors come away from the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park enriched and inspired by the impressive role the US submariners played in winning the War in the Pacific.
Battleship Missouri Memorial Self-guided visit to the Battleship Missouri, see where a Kamikaze aircraft was flown into the side of the ship, and visit the place where WWII came to an end with the official signing of the surrender documents by the Japanese and the many members of the Allied Forces. Walk through the below decks area of the ship, where the crew ate, slept, and spent most of their free time. You’ll also be able to go above decks and visit the bridge, a heavily armored deck from which the ship was controlled.
Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum Experience the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum like no place else on earth. A dramatic trip through time where you will stand on the site of the “day that will live in infamy,” on America’s WWII Aviation Battlefield… Explore hangars and aircraft that withstood an attack that shaped our modern world and witness the devastation of war. Immerse yourself in personal stories of courage, national resilience, and commitment.
