Pecos Wilderness is located within the Santa Fe National Forest and Carson National Forest in northern New Mexico. The wilderness area encompasses over 223,000 acres, providing a haven for outdoor enthusiasts seeking solitude and adventure. Geographically, it features vast expanses of high-altitude wilderness, including 15 peaks over 12,000 feet, the most notable being Truchas Peak.
