This man-made lake, completed in the 1960s, spans approximately 2,350 acres and sits within the rural landscapes of the Musconetcong River valley. The reservoir is known for its impressive depth, reaching up to 180 feet, making it one of the deepest lakes in New Jersey. It supports an abundant fish population, including species such as trout, bass, and walleye, attracting anglers year-round. Around the reservoir, rugged hills and wooded slopes provide scenic hiking trails and primitive camping sites, contributing to the area's popularity among outdoor enthusiasts.
