Established in 1895, Waterton Lakes National Park is Canada's fourth national park and forms the Canadian portion of the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 195-square-mile park is characterized by its unique geographical layout of towering Rocky Mountain peaks and deep blue glacial lakes. The park supports a diverse ecosystem with over 1,000 species of vascular plants, 250 species of birds, and large mammals such as grizzly bears, deer, and bighorn sheep, providing exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities.
