Drive an electric Moke through the streets of St. Augustine, Florida, and you’ll immediately understand why this coastal city rewards slow, open-air travel. Moke Golf Cart Rentals offers hourly and daily electric-Moke rentals that turn transport into a main attraction. Located in St. Augustine, just minutes from downtown and the waterfront, the company hands you a compact, street-legal four-seater that feels more like a vintage fun-car than a golf cart. The vehicles cruise quietly on electric power, so you can slide past Castillo de San Marcos, along historic cobblestone lanes, and across the Bridge of Lions with Bluetooth playlists filling the cabin.
This rental is ideal for short city loops, sunset runs along A1A, and exploring Anastasia Island’s shoreline—riders may cross the Bridge of Lions and visit most downtown blocks and the island beaches, though rentals are not permitted on sand, dirt roads, or other bridges. Drivers must be 21+ and present a valid driver’s license; learner permits are not accepted. The operation offers flexible pickups: hourly stints for a couple hours of exploration or overnight rentals that start at 4:30 p.m. and return by 11 a.m., making it easy to plan a sunset-to-breakfast escape.
The Moke’s compact footprint and quiet electric motor let it slip into places where larger cars feel awkward. St. Augustine’s key features—Spanish colonial architecture, ancient coquina masonry at Fort Mose and Castillo, the waterfront promenade, and the famous Bridge of Lions—become the backdrop for a relaxed, photogenic ride. Unique local details include the town’s coquina rock used in historic shore defenses and the old city’s grid of narrow streets that reward a small, nimble vehicle.
Small-group celebrations, anniversaries, or slow sightseeing with friends make this rental stand out among St. Augustine activities because it combines mobility, style, and a low-impact engine. The operator’s rules preserve historic streets and fragile shorelines by restricting beach and off-road use, aligning fun with stewardship. Free parking is often available while you rent, and staff will supply locking instructions for early returns before opening.
Whether you’re chasing sunrise light over Anastasia Island or aiming to score the perfect shot of Munroe Street’s storefronts, a Moke turns every stop into a moment. It’s not just transportation—a portable viewing platform that invites curiosity, conversation, and a breezy way to see one of Florida’s oldest cities. Plan a loop that starts in the historic district, crosses the Bridge of Lions to Anastasia Island for a shoreline drive along A1A, and returns for an evening on St. George Street. Bring a lock, sunscreen, and a phone for navigation; staff provide orientation and locking instructions for early returns. The quiet electric drive and small size reduce congestion and make spontaneous stops easy—perfect for travelers who value pace.
