About

In 2024 this tour departs Bermagui on Fridays & Saturdays during the months of August, September, October, November. During this time the Humpback whales are on their southern migration from the Queensland coast where they have calved back to Antarctica for the summer months. Other species of whales often sighted include Southern Right, Minke, Brydes, Orcas and Blue whales. From August through to November large numbers of humpback whales travel past the Sapphire Coast. Bermagui is a wonderful place to view whales from. There is only a very short (5 minute) cruise out of Bermagui Harbour and from this point whales can be found! In the waters of the Sapphire Coast they can be seen lateral lunge feeding, one of the few places in the world where humpbacks can be observed doing this!! A sight not to be missed!! Mothers and their young calves also provide hours of entertainment as they journey past Bermagui.

Many other sea creatures are seen on our cruises, including Common & Bottlenose Dolphins, Australian Fur Seals, penguins, flying fish, sunfish, turtles and many species of sea birds.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure.

Departing Friday's & Saturday's

This tour is on our 100pax, 23.5-metre powered catamaran, ‘Bubbles’. Bubbles is built for comfort, stability and speed. She has plenty of outdoor viewing and is a fantastic whale watching vessel.

With her four separate outdoor decks she has lots of great vantage points to photograph whales from. She has a large downstairs cabin with comfortable seating and galley. Her comfortable lower indoor cabin is also great if the weather is cold or wet. Her upper deck has complete walk around access, with seating on both the forward and aft decks. There is plenty of space to relax and view whales and dolphins from. She has two toilets with hand basins and an onboard galley with tea and coffee facilities.

Please note: We also operate daily whale watching tours from Merimbula & Eden. If there is not a tour departing from Bermagui on the day of your preference please check our Merimbula departures or one of our daily Eden whale watching tours.

We guarantee whales will be sighted! See website for further details. This tour takes you out into the open ocean so we do recommend sea sickness prevention.

We recommend bringing the following:

Sunglasses, to avoid the glare off the water Warm clothes - it is typically colder out on the water than on land Camera to capture those magical moments Eat sensibly before you travel and ask your pharmacist about sea sickness tablets. Better to come prepared! If you do not regularly go to sea we do recommend taking sea sickness prevention.
