Monument Valley Sunrise Photo Tour Details:

  • Guiding serious photographers is one of our specialties. We have worked with many professional photographers and know the changing light of Monument Valley like no one else. A custom guided photographic tour with us is the best way to realize the full photographic potential of this spectacular and legendary landscape.
  • For sunrise photos of the Totem Pole, we leave the Visitor Center an hour before sunrise.
  • After sunrise, we then move on to one of three sand dune locations, and depending on available time we might visit two arches.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Of course, 3 hours is not enough to exhaust the photographic possibilities of Monument Valley, for an all-day photo experience, book the sunset photo tour also! Our photo guides will take you out 3 hours in the morning and again for 3 hours in the evening.
  • This leaves time in the middle of the day for lunch, napping or sightseeing.

Things to Remember

  • We operate on Mountain Daylight Savings Time.
  • State of Utah and Monument are on same time. -Grand Canyon and Page, Arizona are on same time as Monument Valley in winter months. -Grand Canyon and Page, Arizona are one hour behind Monument Valley in summer months. -Please pay extra attention to time zones and times changes!
  • We start all of our tours from outside The View Hotel lobby in Monument Valley Park. -About 100 feet across the parking lot is a sign labeled “Navajo Tours loading and unloading “. That is the meeting place.
  • Highway 163 runs north and south through Monument Valley. 1/4 mile north of Arizona, Utah state line there is a roundabout intersection. Turn East. Go 4 miles and you are at the Visitor's Center and The View Hotel. -There is a $20.00 Monument Valley Park entrance fee from 1-4 person. Additional $6.00 per person if more than 4 in a party.This is a Navajo Tribal park, not a National Park.
