This special experience taking place during the Wild Dunedin Festival of Nature provides the opportunity for guests to take a walk on the wild side as you are guided through our native NZ bush track (approx. 1.5km) and learn about how we are actively working to reforest previously cleared pastureland. We’ll start with a brief discussion about the native forests of the Otago Peninsula and the work we are doing at The OPERA to restore hundreds of hectares of grazing land back into lush New Zealand native forests and grasslands teaming with wildlife. We’ll then take a ride into our nature reserve where guests will be guided through our protected bush area, across our wetlands, and out along the shoreline. It is our hope through this special experience that guests will better understand the forests that once dominated the landscape of the Otago Peninsula and all we are doing at The OPERA to restore these once thriving spaces.
The OPERA is proud to be the Premeir Sponsor for the 2024 Wild Dunedin Festival of Nature.
