Duration

2.5 Hours

Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before the tour’s departure time to be outfitted in floater suits and sign a waiver. At the office our team will provide a safety briefing plus an overview of the tour and area we will be exploring. The boat is docked a short one minute walk from our office.

About

When the tide rolls out, the Black Bears lumber from the rainforest down to the shoreline in search of their next meal. From a safe distance, watch the black bears forage the shoreline for crabs and fish. In May, we see the sow with her new cubs in tow, teaching them how to forage for food on the beach. The Tofino Bear Watching Tour includes knowledgeable guides to share with you information about Black Bears, local history and other wildlife that you may come across such as Bald Eagle's, Seals, Harbour Porpoises, Wolves, Blue Herons and River Otters. Black Bears come out of hibernation in April, and they stay in the Tofino area until October, when they head to the rivers to feast on salmon.

The Tofino Bear Watching Tour is suitable for families and guests who prefer flat and calm water.

Please note, the daily departure times vary with the low tide.
