This day tour takes us from Ljubljana to Kamnik, one of the loveliest and oldest towns in Slovenia which is surrounded by the beautiful Kamnik Alps. You will be able to stroll through its medieval mystic streets, hiding various cultural styles.

From Kamnik we continue to Savinjska region, which offers secret corners of unspoiled nature, historical medieval castles, towns and cities with interesting pasts and lively presents. Region is named after the alpine river Savinja, biggest pearl of the area. We drive among the rolling green hills of the Šalek Valley to youthful regional capital and industrial city Velenje, that is just waiting to be explored.

Something special is a tourist recreational area on the shores of the lakes, since it is developed in the area of sunk lakes, which are a consequence of coal-mining. We stop at the Velenje Beach, which was awarded the title the best place to swim in Slovenia.

We recommend you that you join us on a remarkable stand up paddling experience, where you will learn the basics of this sport, enjoy the surroundings and even get to paddle above the trees. If you feel like relaxing, then there are well-maintained and vast grass areas that offer numerous possibilities for spending your leisure time in the relaxed atmosphere close to the water.

After great few hours on the beach, we continue to the valley marked by the rolling hills that surround it and seemingly endless fields of hops or the green gold as the locals like to call it. We finish the day at the first European beer fountain. The Green Gold Fountain is a tribute to the hop growing heritage of the Lower Savinja Valley.

Lakes around Velenje were created as a result of excavation of lignite. On the site, there were several rural settlements that partly or completely disappeared under water. Among the three lakes is Lake Velenje, which is one of the largest lakes in Slovenia and is still expanding.

The lakeside beach was named the best place to swim in lakes and rivers in Slovenia. In addition to swimming, Velenje Beach offers a full range of water activities. SUP fans can paddle around the lake, or go windsurfing or surfing when the wind kicks up.

Supping, or stand-up paddling*, is a real hit in the range of summertime activities. On a SUP you will increase your pulse, improve your balance, relax your muscles and awaken your sense of adventure. Take a tour on the lake and get to know Velenje from a different perspective. Paddling on a SUP board is appropriate for everyone. Our instructors will show you the sport so that you will definitely fall in love with it.

If you do not want to try SUP at the Velenje beach, you can sunbathe on well-maintained wooden stands and vast grass areas offer large number of possibilities for spending your leisure time in the relaxed atmosphere close to the water.
