This is a great waterfall hike for families and photographers. This trail is found in the west end of the park, or "The quiet side" of the Smokies. The quietness from the crowds it offers, as well as relatively easy access is a great unmarked jewel of the Smokies. Enjoy the vibrant logging history as well as diverse ecosystems as you traverse an old railroad grade along a beautiful mountain stream to waterfalls large and small. You can also see an old relic of days gone by at the turn around point. This is an "out and back" trail with ample time to enjoy the sites and even take a swim if you dare to brave the cold mountain water! Sturdy shoes for rocky trails is advised.
