About This Adventure

Explore the beauty of Bellingham Bay with unique paddling programs offered by the Community Boating Center and Wild Whatcom. Join expert naturalists to discover local bird species or enjoy themed Ladies Night Out paddles under the full moon or amidst bioluminescence. Experience nature while fostering community connections!

The Community Boating Center and Wild Whatcom have come together to offer these opportunities to provide access to Bellingham Bay! Each of these programs has a tiered pricing system so you can select the option that works best for you.

Programs:

  • Birds of the Salish Sea Paddle (July 19th) Join one of Wild Whatcom’s naturalists and experienced birders, Kate Brown, as we partner with with the Community Boating Center to get curious about the diverse bird species found in the Salish Sea. Review the basics of birding, learn to identify some common species, and then hit the water to paddle and search for black oystercatchers, osprey, eagles, shore birds, and more!
  • Ladies Night Out - Full Moon Paddle (August 9th)
  • Ladies Night Out - Bioluminescence Paddle (September 21st)

Experience is not necessary, but be ready to be out on the water most of the time!


Wild Whatcom fosters lifelong connections to nature. They do this in order to promote the health and well-being of young people in our community and to support our community in raising a generation of environmental stewards who care about each other and the planet.
