Water Activities & Westport Walking Tours: Pub Adventure in Ireland

Visit some of Westport’s best pubs and prop up the bar with a local.

We visit one of Irelands coziest pubs, Pats Bar, where the famous Guinness advert was filmed using Westport locals as actors, and experience a taste of yesteryear when we have a sip of Potion (Irish Moonshine) beside a roaring turf fire.

In between pubs, we continue on our award winning Westport Walking Tour to hear a few tall tales and folklore from some of the other pubs around the town. Later, we visit The Porter House Westport, officially Irelands best music pub. Here, we’ll sample a glass of local special and a local Westport craft beer from the Mescan Brewery. This Belgian style beer is brewed right here on our doorstep on Irelands holy mountain, Croagh Patrick.

We’ll then venture further afield and visit one of the locals favourite haunts. The impressive Old Grain Store Westport is one Westport pub you won’t want to miss. Not only will we sample Irish whiskey but we’ll sample Irish whiskey from the Connaught distillery, right here in Mayo.

This premium Irish whiskey is the first whiskey to be distilled in county Mayo in over 150 years.

Important to Know

This is not a pub crawl and is not suitable for Stag parties. It’s more of an informative casual wander around the streets of Westport whilst sampling the atmosphere and tastes of traditional Irish Pubs.

Pulling your own pint or whiskey tasting platters are not included in this tour but are available for private group bookings at extra costs.
