About This Adventure

Charter Details

While staying on St. Thomas or St. John, an offshore sport fishing adventure can be the highlight of your trip. A 4 hour private fishing charter is excellent choice for inshore fishing for reef species with light tackle for snappers, groupers, jacks, barracuda, kingfish, etc. We can also target pelagic species such as dolphin/mahimahi, tunas and wahoo while offshore fishing on the South Drop. A 6+ hour trip is required to fish the North Drop and is highly recommended to allow time for a better chance of success while targeting pelagic species. A day of fishing with Neptune Adventures will prove to be exhilarating, while still relaxing, and the most memorable part of your vacation.

Our fishing charters depart from American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook on the East end of St. Thomas. St. John pick-up at the VI Port Authority bulkead in Cruz Bay, next to the National Park Visitors Center, is also available. As our fuel costs have risen dramatically, there is a $100 fuel surcharge added to any 4 hour private fishing charter.

Charters include:

  • Experienced captain
  • Fuel
  • Keep up to 20# of fish
  • Water and ice
  • Fishing tackle and bait (live bait if available)
  • Safety equipment

Additional Information

Crew gratuities are appreciated. Industry standard is 20% of the tour cost as that is how boat captains and crew in the charter industry pay their rent and high cost of living in the VI, just like servers, bartenders and others in service industries. No fishing license or experience is required for recreational fishing in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Cancellations made 48 hours or more in advance of your charter date will receive a full refund of the deposit, but you will forfeit $300 for cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice. Neptune Adventures reserves the right to modify reservation policies and fees at any time.

St John departures

The Virgin Islands National Park finger pier in Cruz Bay, St John will be closed from April 25 until Mid-August. During this time, we must pick up our fishing charter guests from the VI Port Authority Dock in Cruz Bay, next to the National Park Visitors Center, necessitating a temporary $37 charge for usage of the dock. Once the VINP finger pier is open in August, we will resume our normal pickup and remove the price increase.
