Adventure Tips

Dress in layers

Lake Michigan waters can cool quickly, so bring a windproof layer to stay comfortable on the schooner deck.

The deck may be wet during net casting, so sturdy, grippy footwear helps prevent slips.

Bring sunscreen

Even on cloudy days, UV reflection off the water can cause burns—apply sunscreen before boarding.

Stay hydrated

Pack water to stay hydrated during the two-hour trip, as active participation can be dehydrating.
