Join the Atchafalaya Basinkeeper for a special paddle trip followed by a fish fry. The Basinkeeper is our local arm of the Waterkeeper alliance and is dedicated to saving the Atchafalaya Swamp. Their positive impacts will be everlasting. This paddle will allow you to paddle alongside Dean Wilson, our Atchafalaya Basinkeeper and at the end of our paddle we'll have a fish fry to enjoy with new-found friends.
Our route will be an easy out-and-back paddle at the beautiful Lake Fausse Pointe State Park that is perfect for first timers and families. We will stop several times during the trip to allow Dean to address the group about some of the challenges the basin faces and give you a first hand stories and information about his experience as Basinkeeper.
This special paddle trip is dedicated as a fundraiser for the Basinkeeper program. Your $55 trip fee includes your kayaks, paddles, pfd's, guide and fish fry after the trip. Every penny collected for this trip goes directly to support the Basinkeeper program.
