Program

The trip starts at Skaland, about 50 minutes by car from Finnsnes.

Join us on an exciting boat-trip in one of Senja’s most spectacular fjords. Rich in cultural heritage, in particular, the 100-year-old mineral industry that had been and still is in the municipality of Berg. Bergsfjord also has an ideal archipelago with many seabirds and seals.

Guided tours of the fascinating history and heritage of the area. Many seabirds such as guillemots, puffins, cormorants and eagles. If we are lucky we will spot the curious seals or small whales.

Focus on safety

The boat:

The boat is very stable, and is a SIB - that is a rubber boat with a soft base underneath the aluminum deck. This means that it is comfortable to sit on board, and the boat is very well suited to the waters we travel in. We usually do about 20 knots with passengers. The Zodiac is 23 feet long and can carry 4 tons! The engine has 175 hp. The boat has VHF, chart plotter, radar, raft, SART and emergency beacon.

Practical advice:

  • We have an approved life jacket
  • Check the weather forecast: warm clothing, hat, mittens/gloves may be wise to pack.
  • Bring a camera/binoculars and a small backpack.
