This tour starts at the southern end of the High Line where you will meet your guide. Together we discuss the history of the High Line including its previous use, its time as an abandoned rail track, and on to the inception of the park.
Then you'll walk north as we discuss the history of Chelsea, the waterfront (including historic White Star Line pier and brand-new Little Island), the factories (Nabisco which is now Chelsea Market) that were once along the route.
We will also touch on the gay history of the neighborhood, the art scene of the 2000s and today, and finally, end the tour at the famous galleries.
