The Walks: Artemis trail (8 km / 5 miles, flat and easy) is the highest elevation trail in Cyprus, and covered with unique flora. It is barren on many stretches and characterised by black pines and endemic Troodos junipers. Usually it offers excellent vistas to many parts of the island and to coasts from Limassol to Morphou bay.
Myllomeris Waterfalls Trail ( 2.4 km / 1.5 mile, - 1.2 km each way, rather easy ) at an elevation of up to 1,000 m, offers a radically different environment. It has typical vegetation of Cyprus valleys such as alder trees, bracken, maple, golden oaks, strawberry trees, storax and plane trees with impressive roots. At eleven meters, Myllomeris Waterfalls is the tallest in Cyprus, and probably the most scenic. There is a small, very inviting natural pool in front of the waterfall. A few visitors take a dip, even outside summer, at times when the water temperature is rather cold.
The combination of the two trails offers a rich experience over a considerable elevation range in Cyprus.

Water is a must (though one could buy at Troodos Square, which is near both walking routes). Good shoes (with grip) for walking are necessary as well as sun protection, especially during warm seasons. Usually, we have a picnic so one should bring along their own food.
Water is available at Troodos Square, but always carry enough to stay hydrated, especially in warmer months.
Trails include rocky and uneven surfaces—shoes with solid grip are a must.
Elevation changes bring cooler temperatures and wind; pack layers accordingly.
Some sections of the trails border steep drops; stay alert and comfortable with heights.
The Troodos Mountains formed over 90 million years ago as part of an uplifted oceanic crust, creating unique geology and ecosystems rarely found elsewhere in Europe.
Trails are carefully maintained to limit erosion and protect native flora, with Cyprus Walks emphasizing responsible hiking practices to preserve the fragile mountain environment.

Necessary during sunny months to prevent sunburn and heat exhaustion.
