Waimangu Round Trip starts in the Waimangu Valley and ends at Te Wairoa - The Buried Village at Lake Tarawera. The customer starts their Journey at the Waimangu Volcanic Valley administration office and travels down the Waimangu Valley and boards the boat to cross Lake Rotomahana to the Rotomahana jetty to meet the guide from Totally Tarawera and walks across the Rotomahana Isthmus to the Te Ariki Jetty. Guests board the boat Sophia and is hosted on board by decendents of Tuhourangi. The boat then travels across Lake Tarawera while hearing the stories of the Tuhourangi guides that hosted international visitors to the Pink & White Terraces before the eruption of Tarawera in 1886. The boat travels past Te Rata Bay and Hot Water Beach on route to Punaromia -The Landing, Lake Tarawera. Guests then disembark the boat and board the bus to take the 5 minute journey to Te Wairoa - The Buried Village.
