Adventure Tips

Bring layers for fluctuating temperatures

Temperatures drop significantly at higher elevations and can warm on the descent; dress in moisture-wicking, insulating layers.

Use sturdy trekking boots

The volcanic terrain is rough and uneven with loose basalt and ash; proper footwear ensures ankle support and grip.

Start early to maximize daylight

This 6–7 hour route is demanding; early departure avoids afternoon heat and allows for a safe return before dusk.

Stay hydrated and carry snacks

The high-altitude environment is dry and physically taxing; bring at least 2 liters of water and energy-rich snacks.
