A ducky is an inflatable kayak paddled by one or two people. It is a stable craft, like a raft, and does not require you to be enclosed or have to roll (as a hard kayak does). The Upper Taylor is a more active section of the river, with Class II-III rapids throughout. Prior paddling experience is necessary, and there is a 2-person minimum upon booking. Arrive at Three Rivers Resort 30 to 45 minutes prior to trip time.
Includes slash gear and/or a wetsuit, booties, PFD (lifejacket), helmet upon request, round trip transportation from Three Rivers Resort, 3% U.S. Forest Service Fee, Splash Flash Photography services with option to purchase photos (during peak season).
Participants may want to bring a change of dry clothes for after the trip. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting wet, and water/snacks to enjoy before or after the trip.
Expect to get wet paddling—lightweight quick-dry clothes will keep you comfortable throughout the trip.
Keep a secure hold on your paddle to maintain control through the rapids and avoid accidental drops.
Always wear the helmet and life jacket included to ensure safety in rapid waters.
Bring a water bottle or hydration pack to stay refreshed, especially during warm weather paddling.
