About

The Upper Ocoee River begins with class II rapids and gradually builds to the infamous Olympic Section, specially designed for the 1996 Olympic Games. The Olympic section houses two of the largest rapids on the entire Ocoee, Humongous and Godzilla. This section of river has a walkway feet away from the action so all your friends and family can watch you run the biggest rapids! OAR provides all equipment, to-and-from river transportation, and instruction for this 3.5 hour trip, so it’s convenient for all adventurers ages 12 and up! The trip lasts 3 1/2 to 4 hours start to finish, with the travel time to and from the outpost included.

Important Information

Class III & IV - River Class refers to how powerful the rapids are on a given river. Class IV rapids are difficult with constricted passages that often require complex maneuvering in turbulent water.

Ages 12+ - The minimum age is 12 years old. This is a requirement directly from Tennessee state law.
