Details

Meet your fly fishing guides after breakfast around 8 AM at the Yosemite Basecamp in downtown Groveland to pack gear and talk safety. We'll load up and immediately head to our Tuolumne River Basecamp on a 3 mile 4WD adventure into the Tuolumne River Canyon.

Once at our Tuolumne Basecamp we’ll enjoy a series of hike and wade adventures along the Tuolumne River focusing our skills and attention on our incredible lake run rainbows. Depending on your experience level, we can learn the basics of fly fishing including beginner casting, fly selection, reading water and basic knot tying. As well as Czech Nymphing, dry fly, streaming and wet fly techniques. For experienced anglers, your guide will help you sharpen your skills while sharing the best fly fishing locations along the Tuolumne River!

The Tuolumne Basecamp is a picture perfect retreat in the remote backcountry. We'll have heated canvas tents with thick Therm a Rest Mondo pads and cots. There is no cell or internet services at the Tuolumne Basecamp, so we have games like bags and cards as well as a fly tying and a propane fire pit to help make the most of your evenings!

Our Tuolumne Basecamp meals are almost as good as the fishing with hearty mountain breakfasts of eggs, bacon, pancakes and other camp favorites. Our made to order hiker’s lunches are eaten on the go, and our campfire cookouts are the perfect end of the day with ribeyes, shrimp tacos, and other out of this world camp creations!
