Paddle through the inner islands of Tofino's sheltered inlet waters. Explore the beautiful shorelines and island channels while taking in the breathtaking views of Clayoquot Sound. Join a small group (maximum 6) and let us guide you through the ins and outs of sea kayaking in our local waters. Hear stories and learn about the natural environment of Clayoquot Sound. View and learn about the incredible wildlife that calls these waterways home.

This is the perfect kayak tour if you don't have a lot of time but want to experience the famous scenery and wildlife of Tofino.

All tours are guided by certified sea kayak guides.

Additional Information

  • 2 passenger minimum to confirm tours
  • All passengers must be 5 years or older

What is Provided

  • Waterproof dry bag
  • All necessary paddling and safety equipment

It is not necessary to bring a backpack with you. Anything that needs to stay dry can be packed into a dry bag. Backpacks can be accommodated and will be stored in a water-tight hatch that cannot be accessed while on the water.

What to Bring

  • Water, snacks, camera Please do not bring any valuable items you do not want to be a possible sacrifice to the ocean

Clothing

  • Light layer, warm layer, and rain jacket (or windbreaker)
  • Jeans and cotton clothing are NOT recommended. Synthetic and natural fibres that do not lose insulation when wet (ex. Merino wool and fleece) or other quick-dry materials are recommended.

Sun Protection

  • Sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses
  • Due to the glare of the water it is important to bring sun protection

Footwear

  • Any comfortable footwear (sneakers, running shoes, sandals, etc)
  • All of our tours launch from a floating dock allowing feet to stay dry on our 2.5-hour tours which do not involve getting out of the kayaks
  • We do our best to keep your feet dry but we do paddle in a marine environment so there is potential for your feet to get wet

Wear synthetic or wool layers that dry quickly and keep you warm, avoiding cotton which retains moisture.

Bring Sun Protection

Apply sunscreen and wear sunglasses and a hat to protect against glare off the water.

Use Waterproof Dry Bags

Pack valuables in the provided dry bags to protect them from water exposure on your kayak.

Know Your Limits

While suitable for beginners, inform the guide of any concerns—pacing and breaks are adjusted for comfort.
