On this extensive and broad city walk you'll get a good understanding of how Stockholm inner city grow up, and how it have evolved thrue time. Hear how Stockholm where going from a small traders town with a harsh relationship of the isles outside of Old town, outside of the city walls. The Södermalm isle inhabitants har a harsh time. They where counted as outside the city of Stockholm, having it's own laws and therefore forbidden to do a lot of things, like restricted trade and free choice of building material. From being the countryside evolving around the 1850:s train station Södermalm today is a posh place to live in. However, behind the buzzing metropol are a dark past both afflicted with plagues, fires and that Södermalm where home for the Stockholm witch hunts.
Equally interesting is the history of old town, the first Stockholm city, and it's traders. We'll visit the german quarter, the ally of Hell, some places for the 19th C brothels and explore dark stories of murders, the Stockholm blood bath and walking in the 60cm narrow street.
Than we'll move to the story of the secret military isle Skeppsholmen, situate in the middle of Stockholm. Here the navy where stationed until 1979 and the isle was therefore off limit for civilians despite being clearly visible from all part of the city. You'll hear the fascinating history of the isle and it's inhabitants who had it's own bars, shops, traders etc who where forbidden to go into the city a few hundred meters away.

Meeting place: Outside the gates of Scandic Malmen at Medborgarplatsen. The hotel is right outside the Medborgarplatsen subway station and are located on a central spot on Södermalm.
