About

This morning trip is on a quaint section of a 5-mile stretch that starts north of Healdsburg. This is a 2-3 hour paddle with a 3:30 pm check-out time. A self-guided trip, rated as Class 1 flow with enough current to keep you navigating and negotiating through over-hanging trees and a few sandbars. This is a beautiful section for swimming, picnicking, fishing and enjoying an abundance of wildlife.

How it Works:

Park your car at Veteran's Memorial Beach Park and walk across the street and towards the bridge to River’s Edge Headquarters where our friendly staff will assist you with the check-in process and help to get you outfitted.

Shortly after you will be shuttled 5 miles upriver, (15 min drive), where our accomplished beach staff prepare you with a safety talk, help you pack your boat, and provide paddling instruction as needed. Then you’re on your own to make your way down the river at your leisure back to headquarters.

What to Expect on River:

Water Conditions: The upper river, where we operate, is recognized for clarity and consistent flow as well as wildlife such as herons, egrets, turtles, osprey, various waterfowl, deer, and an occasional eagle or otter.

The Russian River is lake fed and very comfortable for swimming. There are deep pools, shallow riffles, and occasional sandbars that may cause you to briefly get out of your boat to pass through.

The Russian River is a low flow sandbar river during the summer period. The average depth is knee to waist deep with shallow sandbars and swim holes deeper than 10 feet.

Late Fees

We expect our guest to be back by 3:30 pm. We close at 4 pm. All boats returning after 4 pm are subject to automatic late fee of $25 per boat every 15 minutes.. Please be back on time. Thank you.

Cancellation Policy
