About

Take a morning or an afternoon to enjoy a scenic exploration of Whidbey’s coastline. You’ll do some good paddling but will also take time to glide and enjoy the details and close-ups. You’ll delight in the marine wildlife while kayaking in the presence of evergreens with mountains in the distance. And you’ll still have plenty of the day to shop at a farmer’s market, visit an art gallery or try a locally made libation.

What to expect:

  • Shuttle from the meeting location, usually our headquarters, to the launch and back after the tour.
  • Expect to paddle approximately 2.5 to 3 hours
  • Once at the launch beach, we’ll all spend 30 minutes unloading and gearing up, discussing safety, and paddling technique.
  • A brief break for some stretching and snacking (healthy snacks included)

Physical Activity Level:

This tour is for an advanced beginner; one who can get in and out of a kayak and maintain an easy, strain-free pace. If mobility or endurance is a challenge or concern, consider one of our loop tours instead.

What's included:

  • Shuttle to/from water
  • Local, experienced kayak guides
  • We provide paddles, life jackets and waterproof cell phone cases
  • Extra water to refill your bottles
  • Snacks
  • A Drybag for your extra gear/clothes
  • Sunscreen

What to bring:

  • Bottle of water
  • Any required personal medication
  • Extra snacks (optional)
  • Sun and eye protection such as sunglasses and/or a hat with a brim
  • Synthetic, athletic clothes that dry quickly. No cotton.
  • Closed-toe sandals and/or shoes with a solid sole are recommended Our beaches can be rocky and slippery, so flip flops are not a good idea
  • Binoculars (optional)

Group and Equipment Policy:

  • Groups of three or less may sign up for group tours, however, the tour will not go out with less than 4 people and is subject to canceling, rescheduling, or upgrading to a private.
  • We use tandem (2-person) kayaks on all of our shared tours. We will fill the empty space with either another customer from an uneven group, or more often, with one of our crew.
  • If you or any of your party must be in a single kayak, please book a private tour instead.

Want a private trip?

Up to four people, $700 plus tax and fees. Each additional person is $100. Groups can opt for single kayaks, tandems or a combination of both. Or paddle boards! Groups can also specify paddle plan, although weather and safety considerations can override.
