Itinerary

Board your train in Rome, departing from Termini Station to begin your journey to Orvieto. Enjoy the lovely scenery as you cross over from the Lazio region into the Umbrian countryside.

Upon arrival, you’ll find your way to the funicular station which will lead you up to the Medieval walled city of Orvieto. Take in the stunning panoramic views below to start your day off right!

Throughout the day you will have full flexibility over which monuments and museums you visit and when. Utilizing the Orvieto Pass you’ll have access to, you can choose to visit between the various sites such as the famous Duomo, Orvieto Underground, Museo Archeologico Nazionale and Hadrian's Labyrinth, just to name a few.

No tour to Orvieto would be complete without visiting the famous well of St.Patrick, also known as “The Perfect Well”, with its intricate staircase that leads down close to the source to take in this architectural masterpiece. You always won’t want to miss The Pozzo della Cava and other underground sites full of medieval and Etruscan artifacts on your day trip to Orvieto.

At this time of day, you can choose to (at an additional cost) visit a local family-owned winery and tour the grounds of a 13th-century cellar still used to age wine today, followed by a little relaxation while tasting 3 of the wines produced on the grounds.

Once your day is coming to an end, we highly recommend leaving some time to wander the streets and shops of Orvieto before heading back to get the funicular back down before taking the train back to Rome.
