What to Bring

The high-elevation mountains and valleys of Wyoming and Idaho can bring a full range of weather on any given day of the year. It is not uncommon to see a 40 degree temperature change either. Layered, non-cotton clothing and appropriate outerwear is the key to staying comfortable in the mountains. Also note that freezing, windy weather can occur even in July and August. For your comfort and safety, please follow this list carefully. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to consult with us. And be sure to bring your camera!

We provide: Naturalist guide, transportation, bottled water, light breakfast and snacks, optics, guidebooks, butterfly nets, complimentary children’s activity book for all youngsters, backpacks, waistpacks, rain ponchos, and water filters.

You bring: An extra warm upper layer in case temperatures get cool while you are in the mountains. Be sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes or at least a tennis shoe with a good tread. We provide rain ponchos but if you are planning an all day trip, personal rain gear is nice to bring. A personal water bottle if you have one to reduce the use of plastic bottles. Bring park pass if you have one or you can purchase one at the gate.
