Arrival times are dependent upon traffic and road conditions. Generally, the shuttle trip from rim to rim is about a five-hour ride because we cover a distance of 220 miles.
Start your trip early in the day to catch the canyon bathed in morning light and avoid crowds at popular stops.
Temperatures can vary greatly between rims and during different times of day, so wear layered clothing.
Bring plenty of water—altitude and dry canyon air can quickly lead to dehydration.
Check shuttle schedules ahead of time to ensure smooth transitions to hiking trailheads or viewpoints.
The Grand Canyon was designated a national park in 1919, and indigenous tribes have called this area home for thousands of years, leaving a rich cultural legacy.
Efforts focus on preserving fragile habitats and reducing foot traffic impact by encouraging shuttle use and responsible tourism.
Adjust clothing as temperatures and weather conditions change throughout the day.
