About This Adventure

Experience the thrill of flying in iconic aircraft at the Pima Air and Space Museum! Climb into modified cockpits of the A-10 Warthog, F-5, or Cessna 172 and take control in a realistic flight simulator. Perfect for all skill levels, this unforgettable adventure is available Friday through Sunday.

Have you ever dreamed of flying in the venerable A-10 Warthog? Pima Air and Space Museum offers the chance to climb into a real A-10 training cockpit that's been modified into a flight simulator! No flight simulator experience necessary.

Cost

  • $10 for 15 minutes (plus museum admission)

Where

  • Aerospace Gallery in the Education/ Simulator Lab

What's Included

  • Your 15 minutes includes 5 minutes of instructional time where your instructor will go over basic flight control surfaces, flight instruments, and terminology.
  • The last 10 minutes of simulator time will be practicing taking off, controlling the plane in flight, and if there's time, landing!

Additional Information

  • We recommend a minimum height of 48 inches for participants to be able to reach all elements of the flight simulator. Participants shorter than 48 inches may still fly, but may not be able to reach all controls, especially pedals for brakes and rudders, making successful flight more difficult.
    • Only one person will be allowed in the simulator at one time. No children sitting on laps.
  • Only 1 person may fly the simulator per time slot. If multiple people in your group wish to fly in the simulator, you will need to book multiple time slots.
  • Participants must be able to climb up 4 steps and step into the cockpit without assistance.
  • Participants must pay admission to the museum.
  • Please listen to all direction from the instructor. Failure to follow instructions will result in your removal from the simulator.
