Fishing starts within 3-7 miles of the dock in Shelter Bay. We fish by trolling with downriggers and wire lines in 100 to 200 feet of water. Kids and adults alike love a chance to try out our "pump rod" that lets out over 500 ft of steel wire line before sinking to the bottom. Reeling in a fish on this pole is quite a feat!
Anyone 17 and over will need a Michigan Fishing license. You can purchase a seasonal license or a 1-day fishing license. Please visit the DNR website for more information or their E-license page to purchase a license online.
We recommend you bring at least the following: fishing license, warm clothing, sunglasses, hat, soft-soled shoes, food and drinks, and a cooler & ziplock bags for your fillets. All fishing equipment is provided, but you're welcome to bring along your own rod!
