Seatrekking follows a route along the coastline blending light coasteering with snorkeling and wild swimming whilst towing a floating, watertight bag with a change of clothes and some food.
The west coast of Scotland offers some incredible seatrekking opportunities bristling with wildlife, rocky outcrops and secluded sandy beaches. Our trips will allow you to be fully immersed in this wonderful environment and to see Scotland from a unique perspective.
Currently, our seatreks are designed to be day trips, exploring a section of coastline and having lunch on a secluded beach or a small island off the coast. We will however be offering multi day trips soon, just watch this space!

Meet the guide at a prearranged location.
Introduction and safety briefing.
Be issued with the following equipment - wetsuit, snorkel, mask, fins, seatrekking bag, drybags and changing towel.
Start the seatrek by walking to where you will get into the water.
Safety briefing specific to the venue and activity.
Change into wetsuit and snorkeling gear and pack seatrekking bag.
Now you will enter the intertidal zone. This will involve; swimming, snorkeling, walking and scrambling along the coastline.
Have a break for something to eat and drink.
Exit the intertidal zone and get back onto dry land, change back into dry clothes and repack bags.
Finish the route with a walk back to transport.
Swim-shorts or swimsuit.
Packed lunch in sealed container.
Warm and waterproof clothing.
A pair of old trainers with laces for getting in the water.
Sturdy footwear for the walk-in/exit.
Seatrekking is a physical activity that will require a base level of fitness to undertake.
Although not a requirement, some experience with wild swimming or snorkeling will also be handy.
Opt for sturdy old trainers with laces as they get wet—needed for rocky traction both in and out of water.
Pack your meal in a waterproof container to keep it dry during swims and scrambling along the coast.
Coastal conditions can change rapidly; plan your trip for stable weather to ensure safety and comfort.
You should be comfortable swimming in cold open water as the route involves extended snorkeling and swimming.
