About the Cruise

  • Join our organized students and teacher aboard the DISCOVERY for a "Floating Adventure" endorsed by the Oregon Coast Aquarium!
  • Friendly Naturalist and Captains share Fun marine stories from our fishing fleet to marine sea life.
  • We love looking for our Oregon sea life, ranging from 45' gray whales to microscopic plankton! Depending on the time of year, we look for gray whales, harbor porpoise, seals, sea lions, pelicans, bald eagles, and an abundance of marine birds. (Sea life sightings depend on animal behavior and prevailing route.)
  • Volunteer for Fun activities for all ages, ranging from a crabbing demonstration, Navigation lessons with the captain - even looking at plankton under a microscope!
  • Enjoy the incredible scenery of our bay, river, and coastline featuring the largest fishing fleet on the Oregon Coast, our historic bridge and two lighthouses.
  • At 65 ft we are the largest passenger cruiser on the coast and have a heated indoor cabin, bathroom, and seating for everyone aboard.
  • We are known for our safety standards. Our captains vary the route on every departure between Ocean, Bay, and River based on safety and comfort. (Ocean conditions can change from hour to hour)
  1. Calm Ocean= Spend the majority of the time exploring the Pacific Ocean - Coastline is always visible.
  2. Rough/Dangerous Bar Crossing or Ocean= Explore 4,000 acres of protected estuary and river systems.
