Embark on an unforgettable three-day sailing adventure, mastering the art of skippering a charter sailboat. Experience hands-on training in coastal navigation, emergency operations, and advanced sail trim while enjoying the beauty of inland and coastal waters. This immersive live-aboard course promises excitement and skill-building in a stunning setting.

Duration

3 Days 2 Nights. Meet at the boat at 9:00 a.m. on day one. We will return to the dock about 4:30 p.m. on the last day.

About

Learn to skipper a sloop-rigged 30' to 50' charter sailboat during a multi-day cruise on inland or coastal waters in moderate to heavy winds (up to 30 knots) and seas.

Pre-Requisites

  • ASA 101, Basic Keelboat Sailing; ASA 103, Basic Coastal Cruising
  • The ability to demonstrate competency in all knowledge and skills elements of those Standards

What to Bring

  • Bottled water
  • Sunglasses, preferably polarized
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat or Cap
  • Non-marking shoes, such as tennis shoes or deck shoes without black bottoms that might leave scuff marks on the boats
  • Bring layers to wear; it is cooler out on the water. Bring rain gear in case it rains
  • ASA textbook and logbook
  • Writing pad, pen
  • Towels, Sleeping Bag, Pillow

  • This course will take place on one of our 35-40 foot charter sailboats promptly at 9am.
  • We are mailing your ASA 104 Course Text and Study Guide out to you. Please review the course text and study guide in advance of your course and make sure to bring all materials to the class with you.
