About

Explore the fjord-like Nara Inlet, and immerse yourself in the history and stories of the indigenous Ngaro Cultural Site on Hook Island. Snorkelling is a big feature of the day; Hook Island is famous for its beautiful coral reefs to explore.

A day on Lady Enid is all about you, sailing a beautiful Australian rare classic yacht, delectable food and a relaxed time frame.

Lady Enid will typically arrive at Nara Inlet by mid morning and moor in the calm anchorage, protected by the steep hills. Our crew will transfer guests by dinghy to the bottom of the stone steps, which take guests up to the rock art.

Explore the moderate-rough walk up along the natural, rocky track to the cultural site. There is a wealth of information to learn up here with our guides and the installations in place.

Take time to listen to the recordings, read through the interpretive signage, and learn about the indigenous inhabitants of the Whitsunday Islands, the Ngaro people.

We then make our way back down to the boat for lunch.

On completion of lunch we sail to our Hook Island snorkeling site.

The coral gardens just off the island are teeming with fish and coral, and are well known as some of the best snorkelling in the Whitsundays.

Snorkelling is optional though, and guests not taking part in snorkelling can sit and enjoy a cool beer or glass of wine from the bar. We spend approximately 45 minutes at this snorkelling site where you can explore the diversity of corals, fish and all manner of colourful marine life that call the Whitsundays home.

All snorkelling equipment is provided including wetsuits if required.

We have a few favourite spots around Hook Island, and will choose the best one on the day.

Your booking includes pick up and transfer back to your Airlie Beach accommodation. Lady Enid departs from Coral Sea (Abell Point) Marina / South End / M arm where your adventure with elegance is to begin.

The Lady Enid Hook Island day cruise offers all-inclusive value:

  • A Lady Enid crew person will greet you at your accommodation and transfer you to Coral Sea Marina.
  • Once the sails are set, morning tea will be served.
  • Sail into the calm waters of Nara Inlet, on Hook Island to explore the Ngaro Cultural Site, up a short but steep bushwalking track. Immerse yourself in the thought-provoking displays depicting Ngaro life in the Whitsunday islands, one of the oldest Australian Indigenous cultures.
  • Lunch is served on return to Lady Enid, a locally produced gourmet buffet.
  • Hook Island offers some of the best known Whitsunday Islands coral reefs to explore and stunning fish to view.
  • A scrumptious fruit platter is served after your snorkelling adventure.
  • As we sail back home in style a complimentary glass of sparkling and antipasto platter will be served.
  • Transfer back to your accommodation.

Our Crew will be at your service, a day on Lady Enid is about you, and what you choose to do.

Please note: This is an adults only sailing experience (18+). Fitness Level: The track to the cultural site is steep and rocky, and can be challenging. The 340m walk is graded "moderate" by National Parks.
