Experience the breathtaking Blue Mountains on a day tour from Sydney, featuring an Australian animal park and Scenic World. Hand-feed kangaroos, ride the world’s steepest railway, and explore the rainforest. Enjoy stunning views of the iconic 3 Sisters, all while guided by an engaging host in a small group setting.
Approximately 10.5 hours
Roos, Blues and Views visits an Australian animal park first (before the kids scare the animals), then into the Blue Mountains for a short, easy walk to a lookout for some dramatic views and informative local commentary from your Dave for the day. Lunch is next finished with a sweet treat from a local producer.
After lunch we head to Scenic World with a ride on the world’s steepest railway down to the rainforest floor. The Dave will take the guests on a short walk through the rainforest floor, then it's back up the Cableway with a short time for the gift shop before riding the Skyway across the valley.
From the Katoomba side of the Skyway, guests can choose to walk the 1km Prince Henry Cliff Walk to Echo Point or jump on the bus and drive with the guide. The final stop of the day is to visit the 3 Sisters when the light is at its best and the crowds and the fog have gone. We'll then head back to Sydney for drop offs at aboout 6pm.
The terrain involves easy walks but requires proper footwear; avoid sandals and open-toe shoes.
Even on cooler days, UV can be strong—pack a hat and sunscreen for protection during outdoor stops.
Carry a water bottle to stay refreshed throughout the 10.5-hour tour with multiple outdoor activities.
Temperatures can fluctuate between Sydney and the mountains; pack a lightweight jacket for chill or rain.
The Blue Mountains became a National Park in 1959 and are named for the blue haze created by eucalyptus oil droplets in the atmosphere.
Efforts focus on preserving native forest ecosystems and minimizing visitor impact, with eco-friendly practices promoted at Scenic World and wildlife parks.
Protect your feet and ensure traction on varied surfaces during walks and boardwalks.
Layering keeps you warm in the cooler mountain air and protects against wind or light rain.
