Deadwood History preserves and presents the layered past of Deadwood, South Dakota, through guided tours, museum admissions, and curated paranormal events. The organization offers a range of experiences that include short interpretive sessions, museum access, and hands-on investigations led in partnership with local experts.
Visitors can explore the Historic Adams House, a Queen Anne–style home built in 1892 with original oak interiors, stained-glass windows, and furnishings preserved as they were in the 1930s. The Days of '76 Museum showcases regional artifacts including American Indian items, historic firearms, and an extensive wagon collection tied to the town’s celebration and rodeo history. The Brothel Deadwood admission covers the Shasta Rooms brothel with guided and self-guided options for guests aged 16 and older.
Deadwood History also hosts specialized events: an intimate Reading of the Runes led by Black Hills Paranormal Investigations (BHPI) Team Leader Maurice "Mo" Miller, limited to four participants for focused readings, and an 85-minute Paranormal Investigation of the Adams House using advanced ghost-hunting equipment in collaboration with BHPI. The Summer Trio Pass bundles access to three museums, providing a consolidated way to experience multiple historic sites.
By partnering with local preservationists and paranormal investigators, Deadwood History combines museum stewardship, historical interpretation, and immersive events to give visitors factual, well-curated access to Deadwood’s heritage and haunted reputation.
