About

A great way to know Puerto Rico, enjoy a beautiful day and relax. You will learn about our history, culture, geography and ecological features (birds, plants, etc).

You can swim on the cold waters of the rain forest, and then heat your body at the hot springs. You are going to feel great.

This is not a regular commercial tour. I will show you different places. I will give you a lot of interesting information in a fun/informal way. We can be spontaneous. You can get to "feel", "breath" and "enjoy" Puerto Rico.

Places to visit:

  • Montana Santa sanctuary (optional)
  • Carite State Forest
  • Charco Azul (Blue Spring), nature walk
  • Guavate culinary district (Puerto Rico's “port route”)
  • Coamo Thermal Hot Springs

Montana Santa is a Catholic Sanctuary in San Lorenzo. It has an amazing view and a great vibe. On a clear day you can see the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. We can walk to a spring at the bottom of the trail. If we go there, we need to start at 9am and bring decent cloth (no shorts nor tank tops).

The Carite State Forest is a 6,500 acres natural reserve about an hour South of San Juan.

Charco Azul (Blue Springs) is the main hiking trail within the Carite Forest. After a 20 minutes hike, we get to a beautiful pond. The water on the deep area looks blue. Bring your swimsuit if you want to swim.

Guavate is one of the local's favorite culinary centers in Puerto Rico. Many of the restaurants in the area specialize in roasted pork.

At the end of the day we go to the Coamo Thermal Hot Springs. The sulfuric waters are believed to have healing properties. The legend says the Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth was really located in Coamo, about 60 miles away from San Juan.

Note: As part of this tour, we are not going to visit El Yunque Rainforest. Instead, we will visit the Carite State Forest.
