About This Adventure

Duration:

3-4 hours

Join professional nature and night sky photographer, Mike Cavaroc, as he guides you toward a better understanding of capturing the night sky with your camera. You'll be instructed on optimal settings to use to capture both the Milky Way Galaxy, as well as stunning landscapes on moonlit nights. The focus will be on whichever is more prominent that night, with an understanding of how to apply your new knowledge to the other. With the dramatic Teton Mountains and Grand Teton National Park as your backdrop, you'll come away with some wall-worthy shots of the quieter time of the park.

The program includes pick-up and drop off from your hotel or private residence.

Mike will bring his equipment along, but he suggests that you bring yours as well.

Mike can supply an extra tripod, if needed.

Mike Cavaroc moved to Jackson Hole in 2008 and in addition to the wildlife and natural setting, is passionate about dark night skies. He's been capturing the dark night skies since arriving and is a strong advocate for maintaining the dark night skies in the region.

Adventure Tips

Use a sturdy tripod

A stable tripod is essential for sharp long-exposure shots in low light conditions.

Plan for moon phases

Scheduling your trip during a new moon will give you darker skies and better star visibility.

Bring extra batteries and memory

Long exposure photography drains batteries quickly; carry spares to avoid interruption.
