Embark on the Great Blasket Island Experience for a thrilling day tour that combines a speedy sea safari with a captivating landing on the island. About

The Great Blasket Island Experience – a speedy sea safari paired with a Great Blasket Island landing departing Dingle Marina daily. Touring the dramatic coastline all the way to the Great Blasket Island. An abundance of history, heritage and nature paired with breathtaking views, staggering cliffs, geology and wildlife.

Landing on the Great Blasket Island for approx 3.5 - 4 hours visitors can delve into Irish history and experience the lives of 'Islanders' and how they lived 100 years ago. Free guided history tours of the old Island village provided by OPW guides.

On the return boat journey, we tour further to the surrounding Blasket Islands and explore the 'Wild Bank' - a shallow feeding ground and hotspot for any marine activit, i.e whales, dolphins, basking sharks and birdlife.

TOUR BREAKDOWN:

  • Exploring significant geological spots – cliffs, coves, and rock formations over millions of years old.
  • Touring deeper sea ground in search for whales, dolphins, porpoises and an abundance of sea birds.
  • In settled weather conditions we visit puffins on Inishvickillane and the Cathedral rocks on Inis na Bro.
  • Reaching the Great Blasket Island, we tour the Northern shore which is a hot-spot for Grey seal activity.
  • Passengers land on the Great Blasket Island for 3.5 to 4 hours where they can take a free guided tour of the abandoned village provided by OPW guides, explore the beautiful tracks and grassy trails, enjoy the sandy shores of the Tra Ban (White Strand)where one of the largest Grey Seal colonies reside, panoramic views of the Iveragh and Dingle Peninsula plus much more!

The Peig Sayers incorporates quality, speed, safety, and comfort. You are not seeing the best of Ireland unless you catch it from the water.
