About This Adventure

Experience the thrill of dry suit diving with a comprehensive course that includes eLearning, confined water training, and two open water dives at Lake Hydra. Master buoyancy control and essential skills in a supportive environment, all while enjoying the unique challenge of diving in colder waters. Join us for an unforgettable adventure!

Dry suits are designed to keep you warm during dives of longer duration or in colder water. Diving a dry suit requires a different approach to weighting, buoyancy control, and gear maintenance and repair.

Duration

  • 1 pool session
  • 1 day at Lake Hydra

Knowledge Development PADI Dry Suit Diver eLearning is included in your ticket price.

Confined Water Training Upon completion of the eLearning, students will learn and demonstrate a set of skills particular to dry suit diving. It also gives students a chance to practice buoyancy habits in a controlled environment. Lessons take place at the Brooklyn Sports Club.

Open Water Dives at Lake Hydra To complete the certification, divers must participate in two open water dives to demonstrate the skills taught in the confined water section as well as proper buoyancy control. We do the dives during the local dive season. Please note: Transportation to Lake Hydra is not included in your ticket price.

Equipment Aside from personal gear (mask, fins, boots, and snorkel) and basic scuba gear (BC, regulators, dive computer), students will need a dry suit and a dry suit inflator hose to be attached to the regulator.

For the confined water portion & Lake session, Scuba.com will provide the basic scuba gear needed. Students will need to purchase a dry suit and inflator hose.

Prerequisites Divers must be at least PADI Open Water certified and be a minimum of 10 years of age.

Prices The cost of the pool session is $399 for a private session, or $299 for a group session. It includes the eLearning and all equipment used for the Class/Pool session, except for your drysuit & drysuit inflator hose.

The two open water dives are additional and scheduled during the local dive season at Lake Hydra. Cost is $299 per diver and includes two checkout dives and basic rental gear, not including a drysuit or inflator hose.
