RIDE DETAILS – MOUNTAIN BIKE THE GRAND TRAVERSE

The journey starts with a shuttle up to the Opheim lake at 370 masl.

Part 1. We push the bikes for about 45 minutes until is possible to pedaling where the fittest bikers will find a challenge! As we go up, the view across the valley is pretty dramatic from up there.

Part 2. At 810 masl. we hit a less steep track that leads up to the top of the mountain ridge. From the ridge, a panoramic view over the whole mountain system opens up.

We reach the Skorseteggi Peak at 972 masl. and take a break to enjoy our delicious lunch and the gorgeous views. Recommencing the great ride on singletrack across the high plateau alternating ups and downs.

Part 3. Time to point our bike downwards on a pure singletrack alternating rock garden sections and two steps down. A truly fabulous mountain bike adventure where you have to pick the good lines and dare to roll over a few rocks.

The next stop is by the Liaset Paraglider take-off which still offers a great view of the valley ahead, paragliders are a good example of how to harness the power of nature sustainably!

Part 4. We take off on a short gravel road section connecting to hidden singletracks then connecting to a tight section by a creek river bed until we reach the first village a more flowy track, all going down.

Part 5. One short uphill before we get that overdose of singletrack mixing flowy ride with challenging Norwegian alpine terrain to then arrive back in Voss to end a pure mountain bike traverse day.

Part 6. Skål, what a journey! Time to lift a pint from the local brewery.
