Good to excellent cardiovascular fitness and solid upper-body strength are recommended; prior scrambling or gym climbing helps.
Spend a full day climbing Moab’s iconic redrock fins with certified single-pitch instructors. This guided, private experience features routes for beginners through advanced climbers with all technical gear supplied.
The day begins before most of Moab’s cars have warmed up. Guides meet at 1140 South Main Street as a pale orange light slides down sheer sandstone fins and dust motes hover in the still air. In minutes you’re loaded into a private vehicle, weaving past slickrock and the first slabs that make this stretch of the Colorado Plateau famous. The summit you aim for is rarely a summit at all but a vertical face — perfect for single-pitch climbs that test balance, finger strength and nerve.

Meet at 7:30 AM and plan to climb through the cooler morning hours; desert temperatures rise quickly after midday.
Carry at least 2–3 liters of water and sip frequently—guides expect participants to manage their own hydration.
Sturdy approach or trail shoes make short, sometimes sandy approaches and descents safer and faster.
High-SPF sunscreen, a brimmed hat and UV sunglasses are musts—the redrock reflects intense sunlight.
The rock here records ancient deserts and tidal flats; the region also holds long human history from Indigenous use through 20th-century ranching and recreation development.
Climbers are encouraged to follow Leave No Trace and local bolting ethics—avoid chipping holds, minimize chalk use, and stick to established trails to limit erosion.
Holds water, layers and snacks for the full-day outing.
Grip on slickrock and comfort on uneven approaches are crucial.
The desert sun is intense even in cooler months; protection prevents burns and heat-related fatigue.
